This is an easy one people – you’ve probably thought of giraffes and you’re right. They are the tallest living animal in the world. Long ago, when dinosaurs ruled the Earth, they were also the tallest animals reaching the heights of over 40 feet (12 meters).
However, today we have giraffes who are typically 16-18 feet (4.9-5.5 meters) tall and the tallest one was 19.3 feet (5.88 meters).
The average weight for males is 3,500 pounds (1,600 kg) and 1,800 pounds (830 kg) for females. If there is one thing that stands out on giraffes that’s their neck, which can be over 6 feet 7 inches (2 meters).
